Ma-Ti: The Power of Heart

Description

Ma-Ti (Muh-Tee, not My-Tie), is pretty useless right? Well they SHOW him quite useless. The issue I have is while he's not athletic or anything, his power is MIND CONTROL! They just never use it. It's shown MANY times to be used to read people and animals thoughts and to communicate with them. It's also a lot like the Care Bears in that he can cause people to care about the environment. THAT'S F^*&ING MIND CONTROL. I guess we should just be thankful that he doesn't refuse to summon Captain Planet (here's how he'd be heartless www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4xNJ0... )

This is a pretty simple piece, and while Ma-Ti has jet black hair, Sofia Vergara is straight out "south america", just like Ma-Ti, and she really captures that "native, I'm-in-the-rain-forest" look, so there's my excuse for not touching her gorgeous hair. ^_^ Also the dress, and the red 'arm band' is taken from Ma-Ti's outfit (his has a feather hanging from it also), there's a seam where the red and brown meet, it's probably impossible to see, but that's why it looks like it does. If I cut it anywhere else it would look....unnatural (I know, irony). What's more, is that the more I look at the "power" aspect of this piece the more I like it. Those "swirls" are all a bunch of brushes combined to form the 'whirlpool' look, add in a little blurring and viola! The "mind control" of animals was a bit varied, but I liked going with the "mind control in your eyes" approach on the monkey. It just feels more "typical" and works better for this particular piece.

She looks great!  I've read that she's had to dye her hair for several roles to look "sufficiently Hispanic", but her natural color is nice and I'm glad you left it that way.  Overall great job on this one!  :D
